Hail cores of storm cells can be both damaging and beautiful. The hail they throw down to the earth can cause immense damage, yet when the light is able to shine through, brilliant emeralds and blues are visible. This system passed right across in front of me. I had only a brief moment as the last rays of light illuminated both the rolling hills and the dramatic core of this cell. South East Queensland Australia is a real hot spot for storms during the summer, this photograph shows the beauty and power mother nature can display.
